ダンサーの瞬間の美を捉え､
魂を描く“現代のドガ”

1970年代より英国ロイヤルバレエ団をはじめとする、世界著名なバレエ団のプリマバレリーナたちの姿を描き続け欧米では“現代のドガ”と称されている。
練習に励むダンサーに見る“孤独と緊張”の中で、その肢体から放たれる一瞬の美をエモーショナルに描き上げるその作品の数々は、既に欧米では高い評価を受けており、ロンドンの国立肖像美術館、スミソニアン協会など公共の美術館に収蔵されている。また、故ダイアナ妃やマーガレット王女、モナコ・キャロライン王女が彼の作品をこよなく愛していたことは有名で、日本でも故高円宮殿下を始めとする皇室の方々がコレクターとして名を連ねている。
2005年7月、アメリカコネチカット州の自宅で肺気腫の為逝去。享年66歳。
2006年10月、NHK『迷宮美術館〜絵画は踊る』にてダンスを描いた画家の一人としてマティスなどとともに紹介される。
2009年6月、テレビ東京・BSジャパン『美の巨人たち』にて紹介され話題を呼ぶ。

Catch the momentary beauty of the dancer,
"modern Degas" representing the soul

I continue drawing the prima ballerinas of the world well-known ballet including the Royal Ballet from the 1970s and am called "modern Degas" in Europe and America.
The beauty in an instant given off by the limbs is emotional and receives the evaluation that already European and American a lot, is high of the work to paint, and, in "loneliness and strain to see to a dancer working hard at an exercise," it is stored in a national portrait art museum of London, the public art museums such as the Smithsonian Institution. In addition, it is famous that late Princess Diana and Princess Margaret, Monaco Caroline princess loved his work deeply, and the Imperial Family including late His Imperial Highness Prince Takamado links the name as a collector in Japan.
In July, 2005, I passed away for pulmonary emphysema at home of Connecticut, the United States. Age at death 66 years old.
In October, 2006, "labyrinth art museum - picture dances" NHK; is similar, and it is introduced with Matisse as one of the painters about the dance.
In June, 2009, I am introduced by TV Tokyo, BS Japan "giants of the beauty" and attract public attention.
